In-House Counsel - Contract Attorney – Vendor Contracts

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; hybrid schedule with up to two work-from-home days per week after training

What you will do

• Review, draft, and negotiate vendor agreements with business stakeholders.
• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice and actionable recommendations.
• Coordinate contract reviews across teams and serve as the contact for outside counsel.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel and develop strategies to reduce company risk.
• Translate complex legal concepts into clear guidance for colleagues and executives.
• Travel up to 25% of the time and support other legal matters as needed.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Texas.
• 5–7 years of law firm or corporate in-house experience, preferably focused on vendor contracts.
• Strong legal reasoning, analytical, contract drafting, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while communicating effectively with employees at all levels.
• Adaptability, sound judgment, coachability, and commitment to continuous professional development.
