Cybersecurity Intern

Location: Garden Grove, California, United States; four days in-office per week. Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week. A $1,000 relocation stipend is available for interns living more than 50 miles from Garden Grove.

Salary: $25–$35 USD per hour. Internship duration is 11–14 weeks, from September 8 to December 11 or September 21 to December 4.

What you will do

• Monitor and respond to email security threats, including phishing, malware, and spam.
• Analyze and triage endpoint security detections using EDR and related tools.
• Assist with incident investigations and escalate issues according to established procedures.
• Document, maintain, and help develop standard operating procedures for critical security processes.
• Improve security monitoring, detection, and response workflows.
• Collaborate with IT and Security teams to strengthen the security posture.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States or able to obtain a J-1 or F-1 visa.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to clearly document technical processes and findings.

Nice to have

• Networking fundamentals and exposure to vulnerability research, scanning, or remediation.
• Basic scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Understanding of the CIA triad and familiarity with SIEM or EDR tools.
• Interest in ISO 27001, SAE 21434, or TISAX compliance frameworks.
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, Network+, or CC.
