Summer 2027 Internship - Software (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Kent, Washington, United States. Full-time onsite work is required for at least 10–14 consecutive weeks starting in May 2027.

Salary: $28–$40 per hour, determined by academic level.

hirify.global is developing Nova, a fully and rapidly reusable launch vehicle designed to reduce launch costs and increase flight cadence.

What you will do

• Work on open-ended software engineering projects that directly support reusable launch vehicle development.
• Contribute to design, implementation, testing, and deployment across the software lifecycle.
• Develop web-based SaaS for advanced hardware manufacturing teams through the Boltline team.
• Build control software for bench testers, environmental testers, engine test stands, and flight systems.
• Convert real-time and post-launch data into analysis and insights for launch product design and operations.
• Own technical work from design through execution and deployment to test stands or production systems.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, or computer engineering, computer science, or a related STEM field.
• Project-level experience with Python, C, or Rust.
• Exceptional engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience through internships, personal projects, work, or technical teams.
• Ability to manage complex technical projects through execution, learn advanced techniques, and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to work full-time onsite in Kent for at least 10–14 consecutive weeks starting in May 2027.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements and be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• JavaScript or TypeScript and front-end or back-end development experience.
• Experience with React, Next, Apollo, Express, Node, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, AWS, Svelte, WebGPU, or time-series data.
• Experience with real-time systems, embedded devices, autonomous systems, operating systems, or kernel-level work.
• Affinity for full-stack software development.
