Associate Director, Clinical Operations (Clinical Trials)

Location: United States – Remote

Salary: $177,905–$230,230 per year, plus potential annual bonus, long-term incentives, paid time off, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the execution of complex and multiple Phase I–IV clinical studies across therapeutic programs.
• Manage direct and indirect reports, including hiring, coaching, development, and retention of talent.
• Provide strategic, operational, financial, and resource oversight for assigned clinical programs.
• Lead cross-functional Study Management Teams and collaborate with Clinical Development and other stakeholders.
• Select and manage CROs and other vendors, including RFP development and evaluation processes.
• Identify risks, solve regulatory and operational issues, and ensure studies meet timelines, budgets, SOPs, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience, master’s degree with 8 years, or PhD/PharmD with 2 years of experience.
• At least 6 years of cross-functional study management or related leadership experience in life sciences, including experience managing study or project teams.
• Multiple years of line management experience and demonstrated ability to develop diverse talent.
• Expertise in full-cycle clinical study management, clinical and regulatory documentation, SOPs, budgets, and timelines.
• Thorough knowledge of FDA, EMA, ICH, GCP, and other applicable clinical research regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, conflict-resolution, organizational, and change-management skills; ability to travel when needed.

Nice to have

• Experience developing RFPs and selecting or managing CROs and other vendors.
• Expertise in one or more disease or therapeutic areas across worldwide clinical programs.
• Experience contributing to Clinical Development Programs, Global Development Teams, or Clinical Operations leadership initiatives.
