MCPP: Electronic Technician

Location: Jacksonville, Florida, United States; onsite work supporting the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program.

What you will do

• Install, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify electronic equipment.
• Maintain ground common radio equipment and digital wideband and multiband networking communication systems.
• Complete associated technical and administrative documentation.
• Adjust, repair, and maintain radio transmitters, receivers, antennas, and feed lines.
• Provide technical assistance, guidance, and training to lower-level technicians while supporting higher-level technicians.
• Follow applicable safety, quality, operating, and schedule requirements; lift up to 50 pounds when required.

Requirements

• Five years of directly related work experience.
• Completion of the Military Basic Electronics Course and Ground Transmission Systems Repair Course, or equivalent service training.
• An AA degree in electronics or equivalent technical/vocational certification may substitute for military courses and experience in combination with relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of radio transmitters and receivers, radio-wave propagation, electrical principles, circuits, signals, emissions, antennas, and feed lines.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a tactical vehicle operator license, Secret Clearance, and Base Access.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
