TL;DR
Mechanical Principal Engineer (HVAC): Leading the design, technical review, commissioning, and optimization of HVAC, cooling, ventilation, and other critical mechanical systems with an accent on reliability, thermal performance, redundancy, energy efficiency, and safety. Focus on coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, consultants, and vendors while solving equipment, performance, and operational challenges across the full project lifecycle.

What you will do
- Lead the design, development, technical review, and optimization of HVAC, cooling, ventilation, and other critical mechanical systems.
- Review engineering calculations, equipment selections, layouts, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Serve as the principal technical authority and provide direction to mechanical engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Coordinate mechanical systems with electrical, MEP, construction, infrastructure, contractors, consultants, vendors, and manufacturers.
- Lead mechanical activities from concept and detailed design through installation, testing, commissioning, validation, and handover.
- Improve reliability, availability, maintainability, redundancy, energy efficiency, preventive maintenance, and operational performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Significant mechanical engineering experience with strong expertise in HVAC and cooling systems.
- Experience designing, implementing, commissioning, or operating complex mechanical and HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC design principles, thermal management, cooling systems, ventilation, pumps, heat exchangers, engineering codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Experience providing technical leadership and working with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and equipment manufacturers.
- Ability to review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation, with proficiency in relevant engineering and design software.
Nice to have
- Experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial facilities, or power infrastructure.
- Experience with chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers, dry coolers, heat exchangers, pumps, and redundant mechanical systems.
- Experience with commissioning and operational readiness for mission-critical facilities.
- Professional engineering certification or an equivalent qualification.
