Risk Manager (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid, 2–3 days onsite per week at 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, Massachusetts

Salary: $120,100–$138,200 per year

What you will do

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and analyze incident reports, claims, and related data to identify trends and improvement areas.
• Develop, update, and implement risk-management policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Review and investigate patient-safety events, adverse events, near misses, and other incidents; escalate serious events and lead corrective-action planning.
• Prepare regulatory reports and potentially compensable event submissions to the medical malpractice insurer, including CRICO.
• Support continuous survey readiness and participate in regulatory surveys involving bodies such as The Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, FDA, and state health departments.
• Educate staff, communicate risk activities to leadership, and collaborate with clinical, legal, administrative, and quality teams on patient-safety initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in patient safety, quality, compliance, or a related field.
• Prior clinical experience as an RN, NP, PA, PharmD, or in a comparable role.
• Knowledge of hospital administrative and medication policies, The Joint Commission standards, OSHA, CDC, DPH, BORIM, and CLIA regulations.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, communication, public-speaking, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to learn the institute’s safety-reporting system.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Risk-management experience.
• CPHRM, CPPS, or CPHQ certification.
