Risk Manager (Healthcare): Identifying, evaluating, and mitigating patient, staff, and organizational risks across cancer care facilities with an accent on patient safety, regulatory compliance, incident investigation, and malpractice risk reduction. Focus on analyzing safety events, developing corrective action plans, supporting survey readiness, and leading risk-management education and improvement initiatives.
Location: Hybrid, 2–3 days onsite per week at 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, Massachusetts
Salary: $120,100–$138,200 per year

What you will do
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and analyze incident reports, claims, and related data to identify trends and improvement areas.
- Develop, update, and implement risk-management policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Review and investigate patient-safety events, adverse events, near misses, and other incidents; escalate serious events and lead corrective-action planning.
- Prepare regulatory reports and potentially compensable event submissions to the medical malpractice insurer, including CRICO.
- Support continuous survey readiness and participate in regulatory surveys involving bodies such as The Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, FDA, and state health departments.
- Educate staff, communicate risk activities to leadership, and collaborate with clinical, legal, administrative, and quality teams on patient-safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in patient safety, quality, compliance, or a related field.
- Prior clinical experience as an RN, NP, PA, PharmD, or in a comparable role.
- Knowledge of hospital administrative and medication policies, The Joint Commission standards, OSHA, CDC, DPH, BORIM, and CLIA regulations.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, communication, public-speaking, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to learn the institute’s safety-reporting system.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Risk-management experience.
- CPHRM, CPPS, or CPHQ certification.
