Manager, Clinical Operations (Clinical Trials): Managing clinical staff supporting clinical studies with an accent on resource allocation, employee training, quality oversight, and regulatory compliance. Focus on identifying quality risks, creating corrective action plans, monitoring workload and quality metrics, and coordinating teams to address project challenges.

Location: Durham, North Carolina, United States of America; candidates are sought in the West Coast USA.

Annual base pay: $86,500–$216,000, depending on qualifications, experience, location, and schedule.

What you will do

  • Manage clinical staff supporting clinical studies, including workload planning, performance assessment, professional development, and employee relations.
  • Participate in hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees.
  • Ensure staff have the required materials, system access, training, and SOP knowledge.
  • Allocate staff to clinical research projects based on experience and training.
  • Review clinical work quality, monitor workload and quality metrics, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams and functional leaders to resolve project challenges and support process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or healthcare field preferred.
  • Prior clinical trial experience, including management or leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good command of English is required.
