Director of Event Technology I - Winnipeg

Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; hotel and convention-center environment

What you will do

• Manage revenue, profitability, labor, equipment sub-rentals, billing, forecasting, and location P&L.
• Oversee daily event operations, including scheduling, equipment setup, operation, strikes, inventory control, and safety standards.
• Develop sales strategies, quotes, proposals, presentations, and upsell or cross-sell opportunities with the Regional Sales Director.
• Build relationships with customers, venue personnel, vendors, and internal departments while monitoring events and confirming service quality.
• Guide technicians through technical troubleshooting and act as the on-site technical expert for event technology when needed.
• Manage staffing, performance, selection, coaching, training, and team development.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of audio-visual experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of audio-visual equipment in a live-show environment.
• Proficiency with computer hardware, software, Internet tools, and Microsoft Office.
• Effective leadership, customer satisfaction, financial management, accountability, and conflict-management skills.
• Valid driver’s license required for team members who may operate company vehicles.

Nice to have

• At least 2 years of customer service or hospitality experience.
• Sales experience.
