Director, Software Engineering – Acute Devices (Medical Devices)

Salary: $200,000–$275,000 annually

What you will do

• Own software strategy and roadmaps for device software across acute care product lines.
• Lead a global, multi-site device software organization including functional managers and technical leaders.
• Define software technology and architecture strategy in collaboration with systems leaders.
• Build execution plans and drive delivery across product roadmaps and releases.
• Develop managers and technical leaders, establish succession plans, and strengthen communities of practice.
• Manage technical and project risks, post-market software changes, field data analytics, and reliability improvements.

Requirements

• Significant experience with electromechanical devices and device software engineering.
• Experience with medical devices or other safety-critical electromechanical domains such as aerospace, industrial controls, or automotive.
• Understanding of global medical-device regulations, quality systems, risk management, and reliability concepts.
• Significant experience leading globally distributed teams in a global matrix environment.
• Strong talent management, stakeholder management, influencing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, or software engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
