Sr Director, Drug Development Lead

What you will do

• Lead delivery of complex drug development programs and portfolios across scope, timelines, budgets, quality, risks, and stakeholder requirements.
• Provide strategic leadership to cross-functional teams covering clinical development, translational medicine, biometrics, medical affairs, regulatory affairs, and related functions.
• Develop integrated strategies for pharmaceuticals, biologics, and advanced therapies, including Target Product Profiles, Clinical Development Plans, indication prioritization, and asset lifecycle planning.
• Lead governance activities such as executive steering committees, portfolio reviews, risk management, issue resolution, milestone planning, and strategic decision-making.
• Manage, coach, mentor, and develop Program Leaders, Project Managers, Clinical Scientists, and Drug Development Leaders.
• Advance program leadership capabilities, delivery frameworks, governance models, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and strategic business development.

Requirements

• Advanced degree such as MS, PhD, PharmD, MD, MBA, or equivalent experience.
• 15–20+ years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO drug development experience with global or multi-regional scope.
• Experience leading complex drug development programs, portfolios, and integrated cross-functional development teams.
• Proven experience with Target Product Profiles, Clinical Development Plans, indication selection, development roadmaps, governance models, and portfolio plans.
• Significant multidisciplinary people-management and senior stakeholder leadership experience.
• Strong expertise in program leadership methodologies, portfolio management, risk management, communication, and executive presentations; proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and program or project management tools.

Nice to have

• Early development experience in translational medicine, clinical pharmacology, biomarker strategy, CMC, or related disciplines.
• Experience in a Contract Research Organisation or biopharmaceutical company.
