Provides onsite and offsite maintenance and Functional Check Flight operations supporting the US Army Flight Test Directorate at Redstone Arsenal.

What you will do

  • Support instrumentation test flights on Army Flight Test Directorate aircraft.
  • Perform system-level design using computer-aided drafting software.
  • Conduct in-depth troubleshooting, fault isolation, and repair of instrumentation systems.
  • Apply tools and technical methods to assigned maintenance and testing duties.
  • Communicate designs, solutions, and technical ideas through written, verbal, and visual methods.
  • Collaborate with the team to support shared flight-test and maintenance objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two qualifying credentials or experience areas: technical, college, or military-school training in electronics theory; a valid FCC license with demonstrated electronics proficiency; a valid FAA Airframe license; or at least four years of avionics or armament experience.
  • Specialized instrumentation experience and knowledge of transducers and strain gauges.
  • At least seven years of specialized instrumentation, aerospace testing, and system design or development experience.
  • Must be a US citizen and have or be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Clearance.
  • Must complete post-offer, pre-employment substance-abuse testing.
