Senior Expert Gameplay Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Onsite in the Madison, Wisconsin office four days per week. The role is based at Raven Software in Middleton, Wisconsin; work arrangements may change according to business needs.

Salary: $149,100–$275,876 annual base pay in the United States, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Develop, modify, debug, and refine gameplay and engine code in C/C++.
• Develop and debug gameplay code using a proprietary scripting language.
• Deploy, test, evaluate, and optimize software on PC client and server platforms.
• Collaborate with art, design, audio, animation, QA, and other internal departments.
• Co-develop features with other Activision studios and document software for engineering teams.
• Participate in scheduling, design, performance, and code reviews.

Requirements

• 13+ years of software engineering experience and at least one shipped game title.
• Extensive experience with C/C++ and object-oriented programming.
• Experience in gameplay areas such as AI, physics, animation, weapons, scripting, or networking.
• Experience working with multithreaded code and strong 3D mathematics skills.
• Ability to write efficient, clean, readable, portable, and reliable code.
• Ability to collaborate, communicate, coordinate, and support other team members.

Nice to have

• First-person shooter gameplay experience.
• Experience with PSN, Xbox Live, or Steam networking services.
