TL;DR
I/E Technician (Electrical and Instrumentation): Monitoring, repairing, calibrating, and installing instrumentation and control equipment throughout a chemical plant with an accent on electro-mechanical testing, control loop performance, and equipment reliability. Focus on troubleshooting complex instrumentation issues, supporting capital projects, and maintaining electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to plant and industry standards.

What you will do
- Monitor, inspect, troubleshoot, and tune testing equipment, instrumentation, and control loops throughout the plant.
- Disassemble, repair, replace defective parts, reassemble, and test malfunctioning instruments and equipment.
- Calibrate and align instruments according to established standards and maintain documentation for ISO certification.
- Install and align new instrumentation, including equipment configured for research and development testing.
- Support electrical, instrumentation, control, mechanical, and plumbing work for process equipment and capital projects.
- Coordinate maintenance contractors when required and support the Responsible Care Management System.
Requirements
- Technical school training related to electrical or instrumentation testing and repair.
- 3–5+ years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical and electronic testing techniques and procedures.
- Ability to use precision tools and diagnostic equipment and interpret operation and maintenance manuals.
- Troubleshooting, diagnostic, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to complete safety training and participate in scheduled safety meetings.
