Junior User Researcher (Games)

Location: Nottingham, UK. Fully studio-based or hybrid; hybrid employees must live within 50 miles of the studio or be willing to relocate and attend the studio at least three days per week. On-site attendance is required for play-test setup and delivery.

Game development studio creating titles including the BAFTA-nominated Dead Island 2 and supporting multiple unreleased and unannounced games.

What you will do

• Support the design, planning, and delivery of qualitative and quantitative play-test research.
• Moderate tests, observe users, analyse findings, and prepare research reports.
• Own the technical setup and smooth running of research sessions.
• Maintain the research lab, equipment, and recruitment database.
• Communicate research findings and represent the lab to internal and external teams.
• Develop research competencies by working with senior researchers and the Data Science team.

Requirements

• Passion for video games and the gaming industry.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Curiosity, creativity, and an ability to solve complex issues.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work from the UK and meet the required studio attendance schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience with survey design, user research, and research methodology.
• Experience in data analysis and visualisation.
• Experience with PC gaming, video streaming, or editing.
