Senior Computer Vision / AI Engineer (Computer Vision): Building real-time perception systems that enable smart-locker hardware to detect, track, and understand parcels and storage states with an accent on edge computer vision, sensor fusion, and performance optimization. Focus on porting and accelerating pipelines for ARM devices, building temporal reasoning and ground-truth tooling, and connecting sensors, firmware, and operational decisions.
Location: Porto, Portugal; hybrid

What you will do
- Design and optimize real-time computer-vision pipelines for video detection, tracking, and recognition.
- Port and accelerate performance-critical code for aarch64 using NEON/SIMD, quantization, threading, and profiling.
- Build temporal reasoning systems that turn noisy frame-level outputs into reliable states and events.
- Integrate sensor-fusion capabilities for detecting physical-world states and events.
- Own benchmarking and ground-truth tooling to measure system performance.
- Collaborate with firmware and product teams from sensor integration through operational decisions.
Requirements
- Deep experience in classical and applied computer vision, including OpenCV, image geometry, and signal processing.
- Experience deploying computer vision on edge or resource-constrained ARM, embedded, or mobile targets.
- Strong Python skills and C/C++ experience for performance-critical code.
- Experience with real-time video pipelines, synchronization, tracking, and temporal reasoning.
- Ability to take ambiguous problems from end to end and set technical direction independently.
Nice to have
- Applied deep learning for detection, recognition, or OCR.
- Sensor-fusion experience with ToF, IR, stereo, or monocular depth.
- Experience with Embedded Linux, Buildroot, Yocto, Wayland, systemd, fast boot, Android kiosk, or CameraX.
- Experience deploying and monitoring pipelines across a device fleet.
- Hands-on experience with sensors, PCBs, or industrial cameras.
