Location: USA-NC-Durham-Capitola Drive; onsite laboratory role
Salary: $75,000–$105,000 per year, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do
- Lead the laboratory quality assurance team, mentor staff, and promote continuous improvement.
- Manage laboratory accreditations, regulatory updates, relationships with accrediting bodies, and compliance with TNI and other applicable standards.
- Oversee QA/QC, data integrity, standard operating procedures, proficiency testing, validations, and personnel training records.
- Plan and conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits with assessors, clients, and accrediting representatives.
- Manage nonconformances, corrective and preventive actions, root cause analysis, and follow-up monitoring.
- Partner with laboratory and operations leadership to improve efficiency, accuracy, safety, reporting, and quality performance indicators.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or a related field.
- At least five years of QA/QC experience in an accredited environmental laboratory, including at least two years in a leadership role.
- Technical expertise in environmental testing methods, method validation, and data interpretation.
- Experience with root cause analysis, statistical tools, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), and quality management processes.
- Working knowledge of USEPA requirements, the TNI 2016 Standard, 40 CFR, and regulated environments such as DoD and DOE.
- Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
