TL;DR
Regional Advisor II (Admissions and Financial Aid): Developing and implementing admissions, financial aid, and early outreach programs to recruit and enroll prospective students at Texas A&M with an accent on student advising, recruitment strategy, and financial counseling. Focus on coordinating school and community partnerships, delivering presentations and workshops, mentoring advisors, and managing regional recruitment programs.

Location: Galveston, Texas, United States. Extensive travel, evening, and weekend work are required. A Class C driver's license is required to drive university-provided vehicles.

Salary: $3,750 monthly.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement admissions, financial aid, and early outreach strategies for assigned high schools and regions.
  • Advise prospective students and parents throughout admissions, scholarship, and financial aid applications, resolving questions and issues.
  • Coordinate with high school counselors and organize campus visits, presentations, application workshops, resource tables, and regional projects.
  • Plan, implement, and report on recruitment programs, including logistics, speakers, itineraries, accommodations, meals, marketing, and records.
  • Provide financial counseling on scholarships, loans, grants, employment, budgeting, money management, and indebtedness.
  • Mentor and train subordinate advisors and lead selected recruitment programs, committees, and professional activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least two years of related experience in student services, admissions, recruitment, or financial aid.
  • Knowledge of financial aid programs and federal regulations related to student financial aid.
  • Strong organization, communication, presentation, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • English literacy is required, including the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Extensive travel and evening and weekend work are required; a Class C driver’s license is required.

  • Admissions recruiting, advising, and financial aid experience.
  • Experience working with youth and varied populations.
  • Experience presenting to large groups and designing, conducting, and assessing programs.
  • Bilingual Spanish and English communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and standard office equipment.
