Regulatory Change Assurance Specialist (Financial Services)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $114,700–$194,900 USD annually, plus a discretionary bonus that may include an equity component.

What you will do

• Lead regulatory change assurance reviews assessing the design and implementation of responses to new or amended laws, rules, and regulations.
• Manage multiple assurance projects from scoping and planning through execution, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and remediation verification.
• Serve as program manager for the Regulatory Change Assurance function, managing priorities, the assurance pipeline, resources, and project coordination.
• Develop and enhance assurance methodologies, workpaper templates, reporting standards, quality review procedures, training materials, and job aids.
• Coordinate regulatory, audit, and management responses, including issue closure packages, regulator deliverables, evidence requests, and supporting documentation.
• Produce management reporting on assurance coverage, observations, remediation, thematic trends, and emerging regulatory risks while driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Several years of assurance experience within the financial services industry, ideally in internal audit.
• Experience leading complex assurance, audit, compliance, or regulatory change initiatives from planning through closure.
• Strong program management skills covering prioritization, stakeholder management, resource planning, issue tracking, and executive reporting.
• Experience creating methodologies, procedures, templates, training materials, and operating models for assurance, risk, compliance, or audit functions.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical frameworks, processes, controls, and assurance activities.
• College or university degree, with auditing or systems experience in a financial institution or comparable public accounting experience preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience preparing regulatory examination responses, audit responses, remediation documentation, or issue closure packages.
• Experience identifying thematic issues, root causes, and process improvement opportunities across multiple reviews.
