Senior Accountant

Location: Hybrid work from the Budapest office, Hungary

What you will do

• Prepare, review, reconcile, and analyze financial statement accounts under Local GAAP and US GAAP.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and support timely financial reporting.
• Process vendor invoice approvals and coordinate payments with the third-party accounting firm.
• Manage collections discussions for overdue EMEA accounts receivable balances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, external audits, system implementations, and special financial projects.
• Assume full accounting responsibility for the Hungarian entity, including GL, AR, AP, cash, and financial reporting, and improve internal controls and processes.

Requirements

• Accounting degree or certification, or an additional three years of active accounting experience.
• 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a medium to large corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of Local GAAP and working knowledge of US GAAP.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Fluency in English and Hungarian, spoken and written, is required for daily communication.
