Assistant Controller (Hybrid - Atlanta, GA)

Location: Hybrid in Atlanta, GA, with onsite work three days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The office is expected to transition from Paces Ferry to Atlantic Station; timing is TBD.

What you will do

• Lead accounting operations and oversee the financial close and reporting cycle.
• Manage an Accounting Manager and an AP Manager, with responsibility for developing their teams and supporting more than 10 indirect reports.
• Design, implement, and monitor internal financial controls in partnership with the Controller and Internal Controls team.
• Own external audit evidence packages and deliverables, while researching complex accounting topics and documenting policies.
• Oversee ERP enhancements or migrations and drive automation initiatives using AI-powered tools and intelligent accounting solutions.
• Provide backup support for Treasury activities, including payment releases and cash management.

Requirements

• CPA and 13+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 or professional services and publicly traded fintech or SaaS experience.
• Expert knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance, with experience leading monthly book closes and preparing audit-ready deliverables.
• At least 4 years of direct people management experience, including leading managers.
• Experience improving close efficiency, reducing errors, or increasing reporting accuracy in a multi-entity environment.
• Experience with a large ERP such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar; Workday Financials experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, plus advanced Excel skills and familiarity with AI accounting tools or automation platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with Workday Financials, ERP migrations or enhancements, BlackLine, or FloQast.
• Master’s degree or MBA.
