TL;DR
Software Development Manager (Financial Services): Leading and growing a software development team delivering mission-critical, scalable cloud-based Financial Services products with an accent on people leadership, technical guidance, and delivery management. Focus on building microservice-driven applications, removing delivery impediments, mentoring developers, and ensuring software scalability and resilience.
Location: Must be located in Canada and able to work within EST/EDT hours. Fully remote, partially remote, or fully office-based work is available in cities with local offices.
Salary: $170,000–$180,000 CAD annually for work performed within Ontario.

What you will do
- Lead, motivate, mentor, and grow a high-performing software development team in the Financial Services domain.
- Manage developers directly and indirectly through collaboration with and mentorship of a Technical Lead Staff Engineer.
- Partner with architects, Product teams, engineering leadership, and stakeholders to align priorities and roadmaps.
- Identify and remove delivery impediments and risks across the team and Financial Services organization.
- Support professional growth through one-to-ones, performance reviews, feedback, goal-setting, and promotions.
- Provide technical and process guidance, track delivery, and report progress to engineering leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience leading developers through successful delivery of software products.
- Experience delivering microservice-driven, scalable, cloud-based applications.
- Strong working knowledge of Java, TypeScript, Ruby, or Python.
- Professional experience with agile development and continuous delivery best practices.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and lead individuals and teams, with a focus on scalability, resilience, continuous learning, and improvement.
Nice to have
- Payments domain experience.
- Experience building scalable SaaS or full-stack web applications.
- Knowledge of AWS and GCP cloud services.
- Project Management or Scrum Master experience or formal training.
- Experience with test automation or DevOps engineering.
