Sr. Manager, AI Engineering (Agentic AI): Defining the technical strategy and architecture for scalable, secure, and reliable agentic AI systems with an accent on AI/ML platforms, governance, information security, and systems integration. Focus on leading and mentoring AI engineering teams, evaluating emerging models and tools, and building solutions with Python, R, or Java.
Location: Boston, Massachusetts; Flex Persona eligibility is for candidates local to the Boston office.
Salary: $173,430–$211,970 per year, plus eligibility for variable pay.

What you will do
- Define the strategic and technical vision for the AI engineering team and align it with business objectives.
- Design scalable, robust, and resilient agentic AI architectures with external integrations.
- Establish coding standards, development guidelines, governance, and engineering best practices for the AI agent ecosystem.
- Provide technical leadership, hands-on guidance, and mentorship to AI development teams.
- Lead research and evaluation of emerging agentic technologies, AI/ML models, cloud platforms, and development tools.
- Own the security, performance, reliability, and predictable Agile delivery of agentic solutions within a matrix organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; a high school degree or equivalent is the minimum requirement unless otherwise noted.
- 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience across functional and people management.
- 5+ years managing technical teams in a matrix delivery organization using Agile methodologies.
- Experience defining strategic technical vision and aligning engineering teams with business goals.
- Experience designing scalable agentic architectures and establishing development best practices.
- Understanding of model training, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, governance, information security, solution architecture, and systems integration, plus programming skills in Python, R, or Java.
Nice to have
- Experience developing and deploying agentic AI solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Practitioner-level or Professional-level cloud certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
