University of Cincinnati R&D Engineer Co-op (Manufacturing): Developing and manufacturing consumer products across formulation, packaging, materials, process development, modeling, simulation, and data science with an accent on applied research and product innovation. Focus on designing commercially feasible manufacturing processes, developing new materials and packages, and using modeling or advanced analytics to improve decision-making.
Location: Mason/Cincinnati, Ohio, United States; University of Cincinnati students only
Starting pay: $30.00–$36.00 per hour

What you will do
- Support research and development projects that create, improve, and launch consumer product innovations.
- Research consumer needs and translate them into product design parameters.
- Develop product formulations, packaging, devices, raw materials, and product technologies.
- Design and scale up chemical and mechanical manufacturing processes and support pilot plant operations.
- Develop mathematical models and simulations to accelerate R&D innovation.
- Apply data science and advanced analytics to communicate insights and improve business decision-making.
Requirements
- Must be a University of Cincinnati student graduating in 2028, 2029, or 2030.
- Be pursuing a BS in a life science, physical science, engineering, data science, analytics, robotics, or related field.
- Must be able to work from Mason/Cincinnati, Ohio, without relocation assistance.
- Relevant fields include chemistry, biology, biochemistry, analytical and measurement science, microbiology, packaging science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, and related disciplines.
- Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role.
Nice to have
- Experience with design, coding, testing, deployment, and technical support.
- 3D CAD design proficiency.
- Experience with C or C++ programming.
- Experience with MCU software development.
