Vice President, Compliance (Healthcare Compliance)

Location: Carlsbad, California (preferred); the role includes approximately 15–20% travel.

Salary: $280,000–$325,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead the Executive Compliance Committee and support the Board’s Commercial Operations and Compliance Oversight Committee.
• Set the strategy, operating plan, resources, and priorities for the corporate healthcare compliance program.
• Advise Commercial, Medical, Clinical, Regulatory, Legal, and executive stakeholders on compliance matters, product launches, and commercialization.
• Oversee compliance investigations, risk assessments, policies, training, communications, and corrective actions.
• Provide compliance oversight for promotional and medical review committees and healthcare professional engagements.
• Manage, coach, and develop Compliance Counsel and compliance professionals while overseeing the budget and workforce plan.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited United States law school required.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant healthcare compliance experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or life sciences.
• Experience designing, implementing, and enhancing comprehensive compliance programs.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. healthcare compliance laws, regulations, guidance, product promotion, healthcare professional interactions, transparency reporting, investigations, and policy development.
• Ability to advise executive stakeholders and influence across a complex, matrixed organization.
• Exceptional leadership, analytical, communication, presentation, judgment, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting U.S. biopharmaceutical product launches or commercial-stage operations.
• Experience in a growing and dynamic biotechnology or pharmaceutical company.
