TL;DR
DevOps Engineer (Build Automation/Platform Engineering): Building and maintaining C++, Python, and MERN software infrastructure, automated pipelines, containerized services, and deployment automation with an accent on Jenkins, Linux, Kubernetes, and government-compliant environments. Focus on developing build, test, publish, and deployment pipelines, migrating on-premises services to Kubernetes, hardening containers, and troubleshooting delivery infrastructure.
Location: Columbia, Maryland, United States. The posting conditions also list Melbourne, Florida. Full-time role with 5% travel.

What you will do
- Develop and maintain build infrastructure, development environments, and automated build, test, publishing, and deployment pipelines for C++, Python, and MERN software.
- Configure services for software delivery, deployment, package security, and configuration management.
- Build and configure Docker, Singularity, and Podman containers for development and build processes.
- Develop and enhance service and software deployment automation.
- Assist with migration to Kubernetes for on-premises deployments.
- Support developers and engineers with build, delivery, and deployment troubleshooting, documentation, and compliance activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 5+ years of experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Strong knowledge of CMake, Python setuptools, Anaconda, Linux command line, Bash, Python scripting, and PowerShell.
- Strong knowledge of Jenkins pipelines and Groovy, including Jenkins Shared Libraries or Jenkins Template Engine.
- Experience with containerization, multi-stage builds, container hardening, Compose, and Kubernetes deployments.
- Experience with C/C++, GitLab, GitLab CI, Conan, Artifactory, infrastructure automation tools, Linux services, and government compliance frameworks such as NIST RMF or STIGs.
