Instrument and Electrical (I&E) Technician

What you will do

• Safely maintain, repair, replace, and install plant equipment.
• Install, troubleshoot, service, test, and calibrate high-voltage electrical systems and electronic equipment.
• Maintain and analyze process control and electrical systems.
• Dismantle, clean, replace parts, assemble, and calibrate pneumatic and electronic instruments.
• Read electrical blueprints and schematics and correct electrical malfunctions.
• Perform preventive maintenance to support continuous plant operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or an equivalent combination of technical training and work experience.
• Basic skills in AC/DC voltage, PLCs, pneumatic control valves and systems, electronics, motor controls, and process control systems.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs frequently, and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with maintenance and operations personnel.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office; willingness to work occasional overtime and call-outs on nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice to have

• Associate degree from a technical school.
• Experience with 480- to 4160-volt electrical systems.
