Salary: $120,000–$165,000 annually, based on experience and level.

What you will do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain EMS grid applications, interfaces, databases, and custom solutions.
- Build optimization models and solutions for power flow, state estimation, contingency analysis, load forecasting, stability analysis, and other grid operations use cases.
- Modernize grid applications through cloud-native architectures, containerized microservices, CI/CD automation, and scalable data pipelines.
- Deploy, configure, integrate, and test vendor platforms including GE EMS, Siemens NMMS, Powertech DSATools, EPG PMU/RTDMS, and Itron MetrixIDR.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, production support, training, code reviews, and technical guidance to developers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Develop and deploy AI/ML models for grid analytics, forecasting, anomaly detection, and decision support.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of job-related experience beyond degree requirements for the senior level; 3 years for Level 3.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience with programming in C, C++, Java, Python, Perl, or Fortran and database development with Oracle PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of SDLC processes, software testing, optimization techniques, enterprise integrations, and production troubleshooting.
- Must work on-site in Taylor, Texas at least 2 days per week, with remote work performed from a Texas residence.
- Ability to collaborate with grid engineering, operations, network modeling, systems support, project management, market participants, and vendors.
Nice to have
- Experience with electric-industry EMS or MMS platforms and ISO, utility, or power-industry environments.
- Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or hybrid architectures.
- Experience with CPLEX, AMPL, Gurobi, CIM/XML, PSS/E, Tibco JMS, or AMQ.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AI/ML techniques, and data analytics for forecasting or operational insights.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
