TL;DR
Cyber Security Architect Lead (Cybersecurity): Designing and overseeing secure enterprise architectures for ERCOT’s power-grid and wholesale-market systems with an accent on security strategy, cloud and AI adoption, regulatory compliance, and secure application architecture. Focus on defining security controls and reference architectures, identifying design-level vulnerabilities, and embedding zero-trust and least-privilege principles across complex enterprise solutions.
Location: Hybrid in Taylor, Texas; on-site at least 2 days per week. Remote work must be performed from a Texas residence.
Salary: $145,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do
- Design and oversee secure enterprise architectures that protect against evolving cyber threats.
- Develop and maintain the cybersecurity architecture strategy, standards, patterns, and reference architectures.
- Define security controls for SDLC, AI, cloud, SaaS, on-premises, applications, and infrastructure.
- Lead the information security practice as a principal subject matter expert and mentor senior architects.
- Partner with project managers, business units, and stakeholders on complex enterprise and multi-year solutions.
- Identify design-level vulnerabilities, define mitigating controls, and apply zero-trust and least-privilege principles.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of related professional experience beyond degree requirements.
- Expertise in enterprise security architecture frameworks, including SABSA, TOGAF, STRIDE, and NIST CSF.
- Experience owning enterprise-wide security strategy and securing cloud and hybrid environments across multiple platforms.
- Knowledge of business risk, governance, and regulatory compliance, including NERC CIP.
- Experience with vendor management and technology road mapping.
- CISSP certification and a bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or a related field are required.
Nice to have
- CISM certification.
- GIAC certification, Security+, CEH, or a similar certification.
- Master's degree in computer science, MIS, or a related field.
