Civil Engineer, EI – Water Resources

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States. Onsite role. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

EMH&T provides civil engineering services for public and private sector projects, including water resources and infrastructure initiatives.

What you will do

• Prepare stormwater management plans, hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, drainage studies, environmental studies, and flood risk assessments.
• Support the planning, analysis, and design of stormwater and floodplain management projects for private development and public infrastructure.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, exhibits, permit applications, and FEMA map change applications.
• Analyze and design detention and post-construction water quality facilities in accordance with local and state regulatory requirements.
• Use HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM, GIS, and AutoCAD for modeling, mapping, and design documentation.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and other engineering professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Up to four years of work experience.
• Exposure to HydroCAD and HEC-RAS or similar water resources modeling software.
• Pass the FE exam and obtain EI certification within one year of starting employment.
• Strong technical report-writing ability and experience preparing engineering documents.
• Ability to use AutoCAD and GIS platforms for site design and stormwater and floodplain studies.
