Director - Operations (Midlothian, Texas)

Location: Midlothian, Texas, United States. Onsite leadership of a distribution center, with travel of up to 20% and flexibility to work across shifts and occasional weekends.

Salary: $154,000–$231,000 annual, plus bonus and/or incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead daily distribution center operations and ensure customer orders are fulfilled safely, accurately and on time.
• Prepare the new facility for operational launch, continued growth and consistent operating routines.
• Build and develop a high-performing team of managers, supervisors, support personnel and warehouse employees.
• Lead staffing, workforce planning, performance management, training and employee development.
• Monitor productivity, service, quality, inventory accuracy and cost, using data to drive improvement.
• Oversee inventory movement, resource utilization, safety, warehouse equipment maintenance and the private fleet.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 10 years of experience in distribution center, warehouse, fulfillment or similarly complex operations environments.
• At least five years of leadership experience managing supervisors, support personnel and frontline employees.
• Experience leading large teams and improving safety, service, productivity, quality and cost.
• Ability to communicate with frontline employees, senior leaders, customers and cross-functional partners.
• Ability to work in warehouse conditions ranging from approximately 32°F to 95°F, stand or walk for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds when needed.

Nice to have

• Experience launching, expanding or significantly ramping a distribution center and building a new operations organization.
• Experience implementing operational processes, performance metrics and continuous-improvement practices.
• Experience leading a private fleet or partnering with transportation operations.
• Experience in healthcare, medical products, pharmaceutical, regulated or high-volume distribution.
• Experience with warehouse management systems, automation, Lean or continuous-improvement methodologies.
