Data & AI Solution Architect (Databricks) (Databricks, Unity Catalog): Architecting an Active Metadata ecosystem for a global Data Lakehouse platform with an accent on data discoverability, governance, security, and metadata integration. Focus on designing metadata-driven architectures, automating metadata collection and quality controls, and guiding complex enterprise implementations across engineering teams.
Location: Warsaw, Poland; hybrid work with up to two days per week from home

What you will do
- Define and lead the evolution of the Active Metadata framework within the Data Lakehouse platform.
- Design data discoverability patterns using Databricks Genie and AI-driven documentation.
- Establish Unity Catalog governance practices covering tagging, lineage, and row- and column-level security.
- Architect metadata integrations with external catalogs, BI tools, and downstream AI applications.
- Evaluate Databricks capabilities such as Serverless, System Tables, and Lakehouse Monitoring to automate metadata collection and operations.
- Provide architectural oversight, subject-matter expertise, and hands-on guidance to engineering teams.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with the Databricks ecosystem and required proficiency in Unity Catalog.
- Experience designing metadata-driven architectures and understanding Active Metadata concepts.
- Previous experience as a Solution Architect or Data Engineer in an enterprise Data Lake or Lakehouse environment.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, and Spark.
- Ability to influence technology decisions across teams and translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes.
- Employment is exclusively offered under a full-time Polish employment contract (Umowa o Pracę).
