Materials Manager (Supply Chain)

Location: Berlin, WI, USA; full-time, onsite role with occasional travel.

What you will do

• Manage material flow from receiving and inspection through warehousing, production line presentation, end-of-line picking, packing, and shipping.
• Design and manage the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) database and implement lean pull-based material systems.
• Operate and improve supermarkets, two-bin Kanban, tugger routes, point-of-use delivery, 5S environments, and WIP replenishment markets.
• Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counting, excess and obsolete materials, warehouse operations, and delivery performance.
• Lead material-flow continuous improvement events, collaborate with corporate materials teams, and support manufacturing quality resolution with customers and suppliers.
• Supervise material handling staff, including forklift drivers and material supervisors; hire, train, coach, and develop direct reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of progressive operations management experience in a similar work environment.
• Experience applying lean manufacturing principles and transformational leadership through Plan for Every Part.
• Ability to work in both high-mix, low-volume and high-volume, low-mix production environments.
• Strong quantitative, data analysis, communication, collaboration, and financial measurement skills.
• Ability to stand and walk regularly, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and work across multiple shifts and changing priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP or another ERP system.
• Experience in international logistics.
