Lead Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Toronto, ON, with hybrid work and up to 40% from home per week

Salary: 127,000.00–177,000.00, including target bonus

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, deployment, and scaling of enterprise AI, machine learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI solutions for Commercial functions.
• Develop AI use cases for personalized patient support, omnichannel engagement, market access, payer strategies, conversational data interaction, and competitive intelligence.
• Own the full AI product lifecycle from business problem framing and prototyping through deployment, monitoring, operationalization, and continuous improvement.
• Advise on solution architecture, model selection, experimentation, implementation standards, responsible AI, governance, security, and enterprise policies.
• Partner with Product Owners, business stakeholders, Data Engineers, AI Engineers, and platform teams to deliver scalable AI products.
• Mentor Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and interns while contributing to reusable frameworks, technical standards, publications, patents, and AI communities.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Physics, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Advanced Analytics, including 1+ year of hands-on GenAI or LLM application experience.
• Strong programming and data skills with Python or Java, SQL/NoSQL, Spark, REST APIs, and experience with structured and unstructured data.
• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, Transformers, cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and production-ready AI and software development.
• Expertise in predictive modeling, classification, regression, forecasting, recommendation systems, optimization, causal inference, experimentation, and statistical analysis.
• Fluent English is required. Experience with agentic architectures, multi-agent systems, prompt engineering, orchestration, evaluation frameworks, and AI governance is required.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum, Jira, and Confluence.
