What you will do
- Develop new scientific frameworks for biological performance, resilience, regeneration, and health across the lifespan.
- Design and execute research programs using advanced biology, human-relevant experimental systems, multimodal data, and AI-enabled discovery.
- Study how physical and chemical inputs influence cells, tissues, and biological pathways to improve skin and scalp outcomes.
- Integrate experiments, computational approaches, and emerging technologies within a Design-Build-Test-Learn environment.
- Collaborate with research fellows, senior technical leaders, and multidisciplinary scientific experts.
- Translate discoveries into publications, intellectual property, external collaborations, and technology opportunities.
Requirements
- PhD in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, biophysics, systems biology, cell biology, regenerative medicine, mechanobiology, biomedical sciences, computational biology, skin biology, or a related discipline.
- Scientists completing or recently completing a relevant postdoctoral appointment are encouraged to apply.
- Research excellence demonstrated through high-quality peer-reviewed publications.
- Expertise in areas such as tissue engineering, mechanobiology, regenerative medicine, biophysics, skin and epithelial biology, tissue repair, drug delivery, cell signaling, biomaterials, or biointerfaces.
- Hands-on experience designing and executing complex studies with advanced biological model systems, plus strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Excellent cross-disciplinary communication skills and the ability to work independently within multidisciplinary teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with ultrasound, electrical stimulation, microcurrents, light, heat, mechanical forces, or other energy-based technologies.
- Experience with engineered tissues, 3D tissue models, microphysiological systems, advanced imaging, and quantitative image analysis.
- Experience generating or interpreting multi-omics datasets and integrating biological, imaging, physical, and computational data.
- Familiarity with computational biology, machine learning, mechanistic modeling, or AI-enabled biological discovery.
- Experience developing predictive models of biological behavior and translating observations into actionable hypotheses.
