Tech Lead Software Engineer (Big Data)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $187,040–$438,000 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Build and operate big data computing frameworks and storage systems for large-scale Ads serving and machine learning infrastructure.
• Drive key technical projects and improve engineering capabilities across the Ads Infra team.
• Develop highly efficient and scalable infrastructure for ranking, machine learning, and advertising systems.
• Collaborate with teams, organizations, and internal and external stakeholders to deliver engineering initiatives.
• Introduce new ideas and technologies to advance the platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with big data processing and storage frameworks.
• Experience with technologies such as Hadoop, Flink, Spark, Kafka, Hive, HBase, Redis, or RocksDB.
• Strong foundations in coding, algorithms, data structures, software design, and problem-solving.
• Clear communication skills, critical thinking, ownership, and drive.

Nice to have

• Experience in the advertising domain.
• Experience building large-scale ranking and machine learning infrastructure.
• Experience processing petabyte-scale data.
