Industrial Paint Blaster - 2nd Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Riceville, Iowa, United States; onsite, 2nd shift

Starting pay: $18.00–$25.48 per hour, based on experience, plus a $2 per hour 2nd-shift differential.

McNeilus, an Oshkosh company, designs and manufactures refuse truck bodies for waste collection fleets.

What you will do

• Operate handheld or automated surface-preparation equipment to remove rust, scale, oils, grease, and other contaminants.
• Prepare surfaces for protective-coating application and apply masking to protect critical areas.
• Inspect blasted surfaces against visual profile and etch standards using a surface profilometer.
• Mix and meter blasting media to meet customer and company requirements.
• Handle, position, and move materials while completing quality-control documentation.
• Maintain safe, clean work areas and assist with personnel training.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write with average mechanical skills.
• Respirator training and usage are required.
• Ability to stand, kneel, and work fully prone for extended periods.
• Ability to work from elevated surfaces.
• Ability to frequently lift or carry objects weighing up to 35 pounds.

Nice to have

• High school diploma or GED; this credential is not required.
• One year of applicable experience.
• Experience using hand tools.
• Comfort working in a team environment.
