What you will do

• Establish local and global feeder funds for onshore and offshore distribution through wealth management intermediaries.
• Negotiate distribution agreements, letters of understanding, selling agreements, placement agent agreements, dealer agreements, and platform or services agreements.
• Advise on the regulation, establishment, management, governance, and marketing of private and registered investment funds.
• Provide legal and regulatory support to the BPW APAC team, including advice on cross-border sales of US and EU funds across APAC jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with internal and external counsel, affiliate managers, technology platform partners, intermediaries, and prospective investors.
• Support responses to investor due diligence queries concerning hirify.global fund structures.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
• Admission to practice law and membership in good standing in Singapore or Hong Kong.
• At least 7 years of legal experience, with private funds, evergreen offerings, and distribution-related matters.
• Working knowledge of broker-dealer, private fund, registered fund, evergreen offering, feeder fund, structuring, formation, marketing, and distribution regulations.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, communication, commercial advisory, prioritization, and client-service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines in a dynamic global environment.

Nice to have

• Previous in-house legal experience.
• Familiarity with tax issues relating to private funds.
• Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese to support stakeholders in Greater China.
