Location: Memphis, Tennessee, United States; this position is based in Memphis and relocation assistance is available.
Salary: $86,320–$154,960 per year

What you will do
- Develop genome editing strategies for human hematopoietic stem cells to support sickle cell disease therapies.
- Design and execute IND-enabling pharmacology, safety, efficacy, and potency studies for genome-edited cellular products.
- Perform multicolor flow cytometry, FACS sorting, in-vitro assays, and xenotransplantation studies.
- Develop RT-PCR, ddPCR, next-generation sequencing, and single-cell sequencing methods, including library preparation and editing-outcome analysis.
- Evaluate scale-up and closed-system processes, track pilot runs, and improve product reproducibility.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams and prepare protocols, batch records, and reports for GMP process transfer.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
- Relevant post-degree experience: 8 years with a bachelor’s degree, 6 years with a master’s degree, or 3 years with a PhD.
- Expertise in hematopoietic stem cell biology and genome editing technologies.
- Experience leading and supporting research experiments.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Nice to have
- Master’s or PhD degree in a relevant scientific field.
- Experience coordinating laboratory and scientific projects.
- Experience guiding and training laboratory personnel.
