TL;DR
Quality Technician - 2nd Shift (Automotive Manufacturing): Conducting quality training, product and process audits, material inspections, containment activities, and data collection for gear manufacturing and assembly with an accent on non-conformance control, process validation, and customer quality requirements. Focus on investigating suspect materials and finished goods, documenting rework, supporting PPAP and change management, and driving structured problem-solving and process improvements.
Location: Newton, North Carolina; fully onsite on the 2nd shift

What you will do
- Conduct training on Quality and EHS systems across shifts.
- Perform product and process audits against internal procedures, control plans, and customer requirements.
- Inspect raw materials and investigate suspect materials or finished goods, initiating sorting and containment actions.
- Document rework procedures, train operators, and authorize approved non-standard work.
- Support Quality Engineers with PPAP/PTR tracking, trial or deviated parts, and shift-level change management.
- Resolve quality issues, support structured problem-solving, present data to management, and respond to customer inquiries.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- 3–5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience focused on Quality, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Ability to read blueprints and use gauges.
- Experience with quality audits, IATF/ISO requirements, and internal auditing.
- Ability to collaborate with Engineering and Operations Manufacturing teams and communicate quality, EHS, and production issues.
Nice to have
- Forklift experience.
- Experience with SPC and SAP.
