What you will do
- Develop policy strategies, goals, and outcome-based action plans with the Director.
- Lead policy shaping activities to improve Japanese patient access to innovative medicines, including new modalities.
- Address pricing, regulatory, CEA, and patient access matters with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze policies for selected therapeutic areas and lead strategy development and execution.
- Create stakeholder-focused narratives and policy materials in Japanese and English.
- Collaborate with Asia Pacific, global, cross-functional, and industry association stakeholders to maximize impact and strengthen the organization’s reputation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant Government Affairs and Policy experience, preferably in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, government, or consulting.
- Deep knowledge of the healthcare industry, pharmaceutical business, regulatory environment, and healthcare policy.
- Proven stakeholder relationship-building, influencing, negotiation, and project team management experience.
- Excellent Japanese written and verbal communication skills and sufficient English skills for verbal communication, writing, and policy documents.
- Ability to anticipate emerging issues, prioritize risks and opportunities, and develop proactive and reactive strategies.
- At least a bachelor’s degree; an MBA, MPH, master’s degree, or equivalent is advantageous.
