What you will do
- Provide direct patient care, assessments, counseling, preparation, and treatment.
- Diagnose illnesses and injuries and prescribe medication under physician direction and within applicable regulations.
- Document patient care, maintain records, assess healthcare needs, and educate patients.
- Interpret laboratory results and provide follow-up care with nursing staff.
- Support campus health outreach activities and provide health education to university organizations.
- Assess current and potential health hazards, including risks associated with student behaviors.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in nursing, physician assistant studies, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least one year of related experience.
- Certified Nurse Practitioner, licensed Registered Nurse, and CPR certification.
- Must be licensed to practice in the State of Texas.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, multitasking, collaboration, and confidentiality skills.
- Ability to use and manage an Electronic Medical Records system.
Nice to have
- Three years of family practice experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Experience managing learning management technology resources and planning improvements for end users.
