Senior Software Engineer, Recommendations

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $187,040–$359,720 annually, with potential additional discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Build and maintain high-performance online services for the TikTok recommendation system.
• Develop reliable and efficient data pipelines for candidate generation, profile generation, training-example generation, and real-time online training.
• Build large-scale, globalized recommendation systems.
• Design and develop high-performance computing frameworks and storage systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience building scalable systems.
• Programming experience with C, C++, Java, or Golang.
• Ability to work fully in person in San Jose, up to 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with personalized recommendations, search engines, machine learning, distributed storage systems, or big data frameworks.
