Machine Learning Engineer Intern (E-Commerce) - 2027 Start (PhD)

Location: Seattle, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days per week

What you will do

• Analyze large-scale data, logs, metrics, and experiments to understand user search behavior.
• Improve e-commerce product and system quality through data-driven investigation.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, data science, and machine learning partners to define requirements and deliver milestones.
• Write clear, maintainable code and documentation for assigned workstreams.
• Communicate progress, risks, and learnings with mentors and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Available for a 12-week Summer 2027 internship.
• Proficient coding skills and a strong foundation in algorithms and data structures.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Critical and rational thinking with result-oriented, data-driven communication.
