TL;DR

Machine Learning Engineer Intern (Risk & Integrity) (AI/LLM): Building machine learning systems for large-scale trust and safety challenges using social graph, behavior sequence, and localized U.S. data with an accent on Transformer and GNN architectures, model evaluation, and distributed computing. Focus on developing integrity models, designing evaluations that balance technical performance with product goals, and exploring LLM agents, security alignment, and multimodal behavioral modeling.

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person up to 5 days per week

Salary: $45 per hour

What you will do

Analyze large-scale data, logs, metrics, and experiments to understand user search behavior and improve product or system quality.
Apply machine learning to Risk & Integrity challenges involving social graphs and behavior sequence data.
Collaborate with engineering, product, data science, and machine learning partners to define requirements and deliver project milestones.
Write maintainable code and documentation for assigned workstreams.
Communicate progress, risks, and learnings with mentors and stakeholders.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Commitment to a 12-week Summer 2027 internship, with availability dates stated on the resume.
Solid machine learning foundation, including proficiency with Transformer and GNN architectures and model evaluation systems.
Strong engineering and coding skills with proficiency in Python, C++, or Go.
Familiarity with distributed computing such as Spark or Flink and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.

Nice to have

Master's degree studies in a relevant technical discipline.
Experience building LLM-based agents with task planning, tool use, or autonomous decision-making.
Experience with LLM post-training or fine-tuning, including SFT, RLVR, or RLHF, for risk domains.
Experience in video understanding or multimodal representation using visual, audio, and textual features.
