Senior Machine Learning Engineer, E-Commerce (LLM)

Location: Seattle, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $177,688–$341,734 annually, with potential additional discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Architect and develop LLM-based systems for processing text, logs, conversations, and other unstructured data.
• Design semantic understanding frameworks for fine-grained intent classification and entity extraction.
• Improve model performance through instruction tuning, RLHF/DPO, and contextual prompt engineering.
• Optimize production model serving with quantization, distillation, FlashAttention, and vLLM.
• Develop multimodal AI capabilities combining language models with video and product representations for e-commerce use cases.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in machine learning, NLP, or computer vision.
• Software development proficiency in at least one of C++, Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience with fine-tuning, distillation, or reinforcement learning for large language models is preferred.
• Experience with multilingual NLP, machine translation, or cross-lingual dialogue modeling is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience optimizing multimodal large models for e-commerce video and product applications.
• Knowledge of e-commerce policies, dispute resolution workflows, and merchant-buyer interactions.
