What you will do
- Design and develop a global first-party Consumer Data Platform on Google Cloud Platform.
- Build and maintain ingestion pipelines, data transformations, schemas, warehouses, and data lakes.
- Integrate multiple data sources using Managed Airflow, Dataflow, Dataform, and related tools.
- Implement data governance, security, privacy, compliance, monitoring, and troubleshooting practices.
- Optimize database performance, scalability, and operating costs across Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and Cloud Spanner.
- Partner with product managers and engineering leaders, document data systems, and mentor junior developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field, plus 5+ years of data engineering and cloud-platform experience.
- Previous experience in a senior or lead engineering role.
- Strong proficiency with Google Cloud services, including Spanner, BigQuery, and Cloud Composer or equivalent cloud technologies.
- Experience with ETL tools and frameworks such as Spark, Dataflow, and Cloud Composer/Airflow.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, and SQL, with knowledge of data modeling, relational databases, and data warehousing.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, privacy regulations, BI reporting, DevOps, and CI/CD tools such as Terraform and GitHub.
Nice to have
- Experience with Looker Studio, Power BI, or other reporting and dashboard tools.
- Experience working across multiple cloud environments.
