Director of Engineering (Manufacturing)

Location: Richmond, British Columbia, Canada

Base salary: CAD 140,000–180,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and execute engineering strategies supporting growth, efficiency, and innovation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering managers across multiple product lines.
• Promote Lean principles, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, Service, and senior leadership.
• Oversee project planning, resources, timelines, deliverables, budgets, and execution.
• Drive innovation, cost optimization, design improvements, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading cross-functional engineering teams.
• Experience managing complex technical projects in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
• Deep knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Strong understanding of industry regulations, safety standards, engineering best practices, and multi-product-line project management.

Nice to have

• MBA.
• Experience in matrixed or multi-line product organizations.
