Software Engineer 1, Mobile Apps - Kotlin Exposure Required

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona, United States; four days onsite in a hybrid schedule at the N. Scottsdale office

What you will do

• Write clean, maintainable mobile application code based on business and stakeholder requirements.
• Enhance and support Choice native mobile apps within the Digital Experience Domain.
• Deliver complex, well-tested code to QA.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Analytics, and other cross-functional departments.
• Contribute to sprint demos and Agile retrospectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least one year of experience with Unix/Linux, shell environments, and source control; Git is preferred.
• At least one year of mobile application development experience using Java, Swift, or Kotlin.
• Ability to write unit tests using JUnit or Espresso.
• Knowledge of AWS environments and software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, plus an understanding of Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with Android Architecture Components and mobile app release processes.
• Experience with continuous integration tools such as Gradle and Jenkins.
• UI/UX design experience.
