Salary: NZ$87,000–NZ$118,000 per annum; typical target range NZ$93,201–NZ$107,500.

What you will do
- Develop and deliver executive communications for the Vice-Chancellor and senior leadership team.
- Draft speeches, messages, briefings, statements, talking points, presentations, and other high-profile communications.
- Partner with senior leaders to shape messaging, tone, and communication approaches.
- Support executive communications during issues, incidents, and crisis situations.
- Align executive messaging with strategic priorities, institutional narrative, and reputation objectives.
- Build trusted relationships with senior leaders and subject matter experts while managing planned and time-sensitive communications.
Requirements
- Experience delivering executive, corporate, strategic, or senior leadership communications in a large and complex organisation.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt style and messaging for different audiences.
- Experience drafting speeches, leadership messages, and other executive communications.
- Strong judgement and political awareness when handling sensitive, confidential, and high-risk issues.
- Cultural competency and experience communicating with diverse audiences, including a strong understanding of Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders and subject matter experts.
